With an aging population, it is not surprising that existing retirement villages and rest homes are expanding and new villages are being developed to facilitate aged living and care.

We have been working with Tamahere Eventide since 2011 on various upgrades and extensions over their two Waikato locations to help meet the demand. This has included diversifying facilities to include apartment living as well as upgrading their dementia and hospital care units.

Resource consenting has been required for all stages, and due to the Tamahere locality, the main hurdle has been around timing and access, given the alignment of the Waikato Expressway.

The earlier extensions and work to the Village also required obtainment of neighbours approval because of underlying zoning and setbacks.
